The Ghana Police Service has apprehended a nineteen year old student in the Cantonments area of Accra for his alleged involvement with an international cryptocurrency fraud syndicate. According to a Citi Newsroom report the suspect is believed to have served as a middleman for a network that targets victims across multiple jurisdictions through digital asset schemes.

During the tactical operation security officials seized several high end laptops and multiple mobile devices which are currently undergoing forensic examination. A Graphic Online report indicates that the arrest follows an intensive surveillance period focused on cybercrime activities within the Greater Accra Region. The police have not yet released the formal identity of the suspect due to ongoing investigative procedures.

A Daily Guide Network report states that the syndicate typically uses sophisticated methods to deceive individuals into investing in fraudulent crypto platforms. Authorities are working to determine the full extent of the suspects role and whether other local collaborators are involved in these digital operations. The suspect remains in custody while investigators analyze the digital evidence retrieved from the scene.

The Ghana Police Service has cautioned the public to remain vigilant against investment opportunities that promise unrealistic returns. Officials noted in a statement that they are collaborating with international law enforcement partners to track the movement of funds linked to this specific case. No formal charges have been finalized as the docket is being prepared for the Attorney Generals office for review and advice.
