The Minister of Communication and Digitalisation, Samuel Nartey George, said new rules for SIM cards will make mobile money fraud more difficult. He explained that criminals who try to scam people using mobile money will find it very expensive.
Mr. George stated that once caught, these fraudsters will not be able to use government services. This means their illegal activities could lead to serious consequences.
The government is implementing this SIM re-registration to improve security. It aims to link SIM cards directly to individuals, making it harder to use stolen or fake identities.
