The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Emelia Arthur, has directed all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives to take action.
They must ensure that Landing Beach Committees do not sell premix fuel at prices above the government-approved rate.
This directive comes after the National Premix Fuel Secretariat received complaints.
Reports indicated that some Landing Beach Committees were charging fisherfolk more than the official price for premix fuel.
The Minister stressed the importance of fair pricing for the fishing community.
The directive aims to protect the livelihoods of fisherfolk across the country.
Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives are expected to enforce the approved pricing structure immediately.
Further actions will be taken against committees found to be violating the directive.
