Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George said Ghana needs to re-register SIM cards. He explained that some information in the current SIM card database might be bad.
The Minister warned that this compromised data must not be carried into a new system. He stated that some of the existing data may have been obtained illegally.
Mr. George shared these concerns at a media engagement on March 17. He emphasized the risks involved in transferring potentially fraudulent data.
Re-registration aims to create a clean and reliable database. This is important for security and fighting crime.
