Local community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, want police officers who have served too long in the area to be transferred.
This request comes as residents are concerned about increasing crime. They believe new officers could bring new ideas and energy to law enforcement.
Frank Kofi Adusei, who leads the Omanbotantim Association, stated that some police officers have been stationed in Kenyasi for an extended period.
He spoke with Adom News about the community's concerns.
The groups feel that longer-serving officers might have become too accustomed to the local situation.
They are hopeful that a change in personnel will lead to more effective crime prevention and response.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet responded to the calls for transfer.
Further discussions are expected between community leaders and the police command.
