Community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, have asked for police officers who have served long terms to be transferred. They believe this change is needed to improve the fight against crime.
Frank Kofi Adusei, chairman of the Omanbotantim Association, spoke about this issue. He said that some police officers have been stationed in the Kenyasi area for an extended period.
Mr. Adusei stated that the long stay of some officers might affect their effectiveness in tackling current crime issues.
The groups want new officers with fresh perspectives to be deployed to the area.
They believe this will lead to better law enforcement and a reduction in criminal activities.
The specific number of officers who have overstayed was not mentioned.
Adom News reported these details.
