Community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, are requesting that police officers who have stayed in the area for an extended period be moved. The groups believe this change is necessary to improve how crime is handled.

Frank Kofi Adusei, chairman of the Omanbotantim Association, spoke about the concerns. He mentioned that some officers have been in Kenyasi for many years.

This long service, according to Adusei, may be making it harder for the police to effectively tackle the increase in criminal activities. He suggested that a change in personnel could bring new approaches to policing.

The groups hope that transferring officers who have overstayed will strengthen law enforcement. They believe new officers could revitalize efforts to ensure safety and security in Kenyasi.

The Ghana Police Service has not yet responded to these calls for transfers.

The situation highlights community efforts to improve public safety. Residents are actively seeking solutions to what they perceive as a growing crime problem.
