Civil society organizations in Kenyasi want to see some police officers moved out of the community. They believe officers who have been in Kenyasi for a long time may not be as effective in fighting crime.
Frank Kofi Adusei, who leads the Omanbotantim Association, said this to Adom News. He explained that too many officers have stayed in the Ahafo Region town for more than is normal.
The groups feel this situation contributes to the growing problems with crime in Kenyasi.
They have formally asked for the transfer of these long-serving officers. The goal is to bring in new personnel who might bring fresh perspectives and energy to law enforcement.
Residents have expressed concerns about the rising crime rates. They hope the transfer of officers will lead to better policing and a safer community.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet commented on this request.
