Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, head of Action Chapel International, says churches have a duty to teach Ghanaians about the dangers of illegal mining and gold smuggling.
He believes prayer is not sufficient to stop the galamsey problem.
The Archbishop stressed that religious institutions must also educate people on the environmental damage and social harm caused by these activities.
His call highlights the need for a broader approach to tackling illegal mining.
This includes raising public awareness and promoting responsible resource management.
