Community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, have asked for police officers who have served in the area for a long time to be transferred.
These groups believe new officers could help tackle the growing crime rate in the community.
Frank Kofi Adusei, the Chairman of the Omanbotantim Association, spoke about the issue.
He mentioned that several police officers have been stationed in Kenyasi for more than seems necessary.
The association thinks a change in personnel will bring fresh approaches to law enforcement.
This move is expected to improve the way crime is handled and reduce criminal activity.
The groups are urging the Ghana Police Service to consider their request for the safety of Kenyasi residents.
A spokesperson for the Ghana Police Service has not yet replied to questions about the matter.
