Several community groups in Kenyasi, located in the Ahafo Region, want police officers who have served for extended periods to be transferred. They believe this change is needed to improve the fight against increasing criminal activity.
Frank Kofi Adusei, who leads the Omanbotantim Association, spoke about this issue. He explained that some police officers have been stationed in Kenyasi for more than the usual time.
Adusei stated that bringing in new officers could bring fresh energy and strategies to law enforcement in the community. This, he hopes, would help address the growing crime rates.
The community groups are urging the Ghana Police Service to consider their request seriously. They believe a change in personnel will lead to better policing.
This call comes amid concerns about rising crime in the Kenyasi area. The groups feel that the current police presence may not be as effective as it could be.
They hope that a redeployment of officers will strengthen the local police force. This could lead to more successful efforts in preventing and solving crimes within Kenyasi.
