Civil society groups in Kenyasi within the Ahafo Region are asking for police officers who have stayed too long in the area to be transferred. They believe this change is needed to tackle increasing crime in the community.
Frank Kofi Adusei, who is the Chairman of the Omanbotantim Association, shared this view in an interview. He stated that some police officers have been stationed in Kenyasi for an extended period.
Adusei suggested that the long tenure of some officers might be affecting their effectiveness in combating the current rise in criminal activities.
The groups want new officers to bring fresh perspectives and a renewed approach to law enforcement in the area.
They hope the transfer of personnel will lead to improved policing and a reduction in crime rates.
The specific period officers have served or details about the rising crime were not immediately available.
