Community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, want police officers who have served for too long to be transferred. They believe this change will help improve efforts to fight increasing crime.

Frank Kofi Adusei, who leads the Omanbotantim Association, spoke about the issue. He said some police officers have been stationed in the Kenyasi area for many years.

Mr. Adusei suggested that a fresh presence of officers could bring new energy and strategies to policing. This, he believes, is important for making the community safer.

The groups feel that the long tenure of some officers might affect their effectiveness in responding to the current crime situation.

They have formally requested the transfer of these officers to the relevant police authorities.

The Ghana Police Service has not yet responded to the request.

The community groups are waiting for action to be taken to address their concerns about crime in Kenyasi.
