Banks and private security companies must improve their security systems. They also need to share more information with the police to prevent armed robberies.

This advice comes from Dr. Jones Opoku-Ware, a criminologist and lecturer at KNUST.

His comments were made after police stopped an alleged robbery attempt in Labone, Accra.

During the police operation, two individuals suspected of robbery were killed.

The criminologist believes stronger background checks for bank employees are also necessary.

This would help identify potential risks before crimes can occur.

Improved security measures can protect both bank assets and customers.

Sharing intelligence between banks and law enforcement is key to proactive crime prevention.
