Cocoa farmers are calling on the government to address their demands regarding falling cocoa prices. Simon Asafo Adjei, a leader for the farmers in Sefwi, explained their position.
Mr. Adjei commented that the problem of reduced cocoa prices is affecting their livelihoods. He described it as a matter of social and economic well-being for many families.
He noted that both the ruling party and the opposition parties have been pointing fingers. However, he stressed that the issue goes beyond simple political disagreements.
The farmers believe their protests are a genuine plea for help. They do not see their actions as petty political tactics.
Mr. Adjei urged the government to focus on finding real solutions. He emphasized the importance of listening to the farmers' needs.
He stated that a lasting solution is needed to support the cocoa industry. This would help ensure the financial stability of cocoa farmers.
