A civil society group named the Center for Public Opinion and Awareness, or CenPOA, is asking the government to stop charging fees for people who want to join Ghana's security services. This includes jobs in the Ghana Police Service and other agencies.
CenPOA said that many qualified people cannot apply because they cannot afford the application fees.
The group believes this practice unfairly stops citizens from joining the services.
They released a statement explaining their position.
CenPOA feels the government should find other ways to fund recruitment processes.
This could help ensure that more citizens have a fair chance to serve their country.
