A group called the Center for Public Opinion and Awareness (CenPOA) is asking the government to get rid of application fees for jobs in the security services. These services include the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces.

CenPOA said this in a statement they released. They believe charging money to apply for these important jobs is unfair.

The group feels that such fees create a financial barrier for many citizens who wish to serve their nation. They argue that access to these roles should be based on merit, not the ability to pay an application fee.

CenPOA stated that these fees can discourage qualified individuals from even trying to join, especially those from less wealthy backgrounds.

The call highlights concerns about equal opportunity in public service recruitment.

CenPOA hopes the government will consider their request and make the application process more accessible to all Ghanaians.
