A civil society group called the Center for Public Opinion and Awareness, or CenPOA, is asking the government to stop charging money for job applications to security services.
These services include the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies. CenPOA stated that charging fees for applications has been a practice for many years.
The group believes that removing these fees will make it fairer for everyone who wants to serve the country.
CenPOA issued a statement detailing their request to the government.
The statement emphasized that the current system may prevent qualified individuals from applying, especially those who cannot afford the fees.
This call aims to ensure that recruitment processes are based on merit and suitability rather than financial capacity.
