A group called the Center for Public Opinion and Awareness, or CenPOA, is asking the government to stop charging application fees for joining security forces in Ghana. This includes police and military jobs.

CenPOA stated that many young Ghanaians face financial barriers when trying to apply for these important roles. They believe the fees make it harder for qualified individuals to serve their country.

The organization believes that recruitment should be based on merit and suitability, not on an applicant's ability to pay a fee. They issued a statement detailing their concerns.

CenPOA specifically mentioned agencies such as the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Prisons Service, and the Ghana Armed Forces in their call for change.

They want to ensure that everyone who dreams of joining these services has a fair chance without financial hardship holding them back.

The group hopes the government will consider their request to make the recruitment process more accessible and equitable for all Ghanaians.
