A High Court in Accra has ordered Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Wontumi, to start his defence in a trial. This court case involves accusations that he allowed people to mine without proper government approval.

The Criminal Court 4 Division issued the order. Wontumi is accused of permitting illegal mining activities on his concession.

The presiding judge gave the order after hearing the prosecution's case. The judge ruled that the prosecution had provided enough evidence to proceed.

Wontumi must now present his side of the story to the court. The accusations claim he did not get the required ministerial approval for the mining.
