An Accra High Court has ordered Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, to present his defence. He is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
The court dismissed a submission asking to end the case against him. This submission was filed by his lawyers.
The case concerns allegations of illegal mining activities. Justice Audrey Kokuvie Tay made the ruling on Monday.
