A judge at the High Court in Accra has made a decision in the case against Bernard Antwi Boasiako and Akonta Mining Limited. Justice Audrey Kocuvie-Tay presided over the hearing.

The court dismissed a request made by Chairman Wontumi and his company. This request aimed to stop the galamsey charges against them.

The charges relate to alleged illegal mining activities. These activities reportedly took place at the Samreboi concession.

Following the dismissal, the court has ordered the defendants to begin their defense. They must now present their side of the story.

This legal action stems from accusations of engaging in illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.

The court's decision means the case will proceed to the next stage. Chairman Wontumi and Akonta Mining Limited are expected to provide evidence to counter the allegations.
