A circuit court in the Western Region has sentenced two individuals to prison terms for their involvement in illegal mining activities.
The court found the two individuals guilty of engaging in illicit mining operations within the region.
In addition to the jail sentences, the court ordered the confiscation of all equipment used in the illegal mining activities.
This action follows efforts by authorities to curb illegal mining, often referred to as galamsey, which poses significant environmental damage.
