A Tarkwa Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Hathia Ama Mano has sentenced three men to a total of forty five years in hard labor for their involvement in a gang robbery at a mining site. The individuals were convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery following a trial that scrutinized their roles in the violent incident.

Court proceedings detailed how the group launched a coordinated attack on the mining facility where they threatened workers with weapons and made away with valuable machinery and personal belongings. Prosecutors presented evidence including recovered items and witness testimonies that identified the three men as the primary perpetrators of the raid.

The presiding judge noted during the sentencing that such criminal activities pose a significant threat to the security of the mining industry which serves as a major economic pillar for the Western Region. The court aimed to provide a deterrent to others who might consider similar unlawful ventures within the jurisdiction.

Law enforcement officials from the Tarkwa Nsuaem divisional command have expressed satisfaction with the verdict stating that it reflects the intensive investigative work conducted by the police service. The convicts have since been transported to the prison facility to begin their terms of fifteen years each.
