A Takoradi Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Michael Ampadu handed a fifteen year prison sentence to a twenty four year old man identified as Michael Larbi for his involvement in a violent street robbery. The GhanaWeb report indicates that the convict was part of a group that attacked a victim in the Western Region before fleeing with personal belongings and cash.

The prosecution detailed that the convict and his accomplices used force during the encounter which resulted in physical injuries to the victim. Police investigators presented evidence that linked the convict to the scene of the crime despite his initial pleas. The court found him guilty of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime based on testimony from the victim and responding officers.

Authorities from the Western Regional Police Command confirmed that while one suspect has been successfully prosecuted the remaining members of the gang are currently at large. Official police sources state that intelligence operations are ongoing to track down the suspects who managed to evade arrest during the initial pursuit following the mugging incident.

Legal records from the Takoradi Circuit Court show that the fifteen year sentence is intended to serve as a deterrent to other youth involved in violent street crimes. The GhanaWeb account mentions that the convict appeared in court without legal representation during the final sentencing phase where the judge emphasized the gravity of using violence against unarmed citizens.
