The Court of Appeal has overturned the 10-year prison sentence given to Sedina Attionu-Tamakloe. She was the former CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre MASLOC.

This decision by the Court of Appeal means Attionu-Tamakloe is now free. She had been found guilty of causing financial loss to the state.

Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, who was the former Deputy Attorney-General, stated his disappointment. He described the acquittal as a "playbook" perfectly executed.

Tuah-Yeboah believes this outcome is a setback for Ghana's fight against corruption. He feels the legal process did not achieve the desired justice.

The original conviction was for charges related to her time leading MASLOC.

The details of the Court of Appeal's ruling have been made public.
