Around 40 police officers have written to the Deputy Attorney-General. They are unhappy because the Ghana Police Service is asking them to take an exam for promotion. This comes after a court had already ordered their promotion.

The officers believe the police directive contradicts a ruling by the Court of Appeal. They have hired lawyers to represent them in this matter.

The lawyers sent a letter to the Deputy Attorney-General explaining the situation. They argue that the Police Service signal demanding exams goes against the judge's earlier order.

The officers feel their promotions should be based on the court's decision, not a new examination. They are seeking the intervention of the Deputy Attorney-General to resolve this issue.

The Ghana Police Service has not yet publicly commented on the petition.
