The Adenta Circuit Court has granted a 40-year-old Senior Nursing Officer, Salomey Awity Bafoh, bail amounting to GH¢100,000 with two sureties. Bafoh faces accusations of aiding in the publication of false news via the social media account "Ghana Jollof" and has pleaded not guilty. The court also mandated that she report to the Hesua Police Station bi-weekly. The prosecution alleges Bafoh acted as a conduit between the account's suspected operator, who is reportedly in the UK and declared wanted, and other individuals. According to the prosecution, Bafoh recruited people to disseminate videos from the account and financial transactions were discovered between her and the suspected operator. Forensic analysis of Bafoh's phone and mobile money records allegedly revealed these transactions. The case has been adjourned to February 17, 2027.
