Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, has taken legal action against Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah. Rev Owusu Bempah is the Head Pastor of Glorious Word Power Ministry International.
The lawsuit was filed at the High Court. It claims Rev Owusu Bempah made statements that defamed Dr Ayew Afriye.
These alleged statements accused the MP of being involved in a plan to attack the pastor and his church. Dr Ayew Afriye denies these accusations.
Through the court filing, Dr Ayew Afriye is seeking 10 million cedis. This amount is for damages caused by the alleged defamatory statements.
The case is now before the High Court for legal proceedings to begin.
