The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, appeared before an Accra High Court today. He faces serious charges related to financial misconduct.

Prosecutors allege that the MP caused financial loss to the public purse. The amount stated in the charges exceeds GHc9 million.

The MP has formally entered a plea of not guilty to all charges. This includes the primary charge of causing financial loss.

In addition to the financial loss charge, Mr. Awuah is also accused of conspiracy. He denies this charge as well.

Further charges against the MP include money laundering. He has pleaded not guilty to these allegations.

The court has acknowledged the MP's plea. Legal proceedings are expected to continue as the case progresses.

The case has been adjourned to a later date for further hearing. The court will review the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defense.
