Former Abuakwa South Member of Parliament Samuel Atta Akyea has warned about the perception of the justice system. He said courts should not appear to be rushing to jail people.
Mr Atta Akyea spoke about this issue. He believes the courts must be seen to apply the law fairly.
He stated that judges should not create the impression that they are moving quickly to jail individuals for political reasons.
The lawyer argued that the focus must remain on the proper application of justice.

His comments highlight concerns about judicial independence and fairness.
