A private legal practitioner named Kwame Adofo has raised concerns about conducting full criminal trials during the judiciary's legal vacation. He explained that this annual break is meant for urgent applications, not for lengthy hearings.

Adofo stated that by July, most judges and lawyers are exhausted. He believes continuing substantive criminal trials during this period is not appropriate.

He shared his perspective on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday, August 7, 2026.

The High Court's recess is intended to provide a break for legal professionals. Adofo argued that this time should be preserved for essential, time-sensitive legal matters.
