Lawyer Martin Kpebu has commented on the defence presented in the case involving NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako.

Kpebu stated that the defence offered by Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, was weak.

He described the defence as a 'cock-and-bull story'.

The lawyer suggested that the conviction resulted from the weakness of the defence itself.

This was not due to any legal technicality, according to Kpebu.

He spoke about Wontumi's claims regarding reclamation work on a mining concession in Samreboi.

Kpebu felt Wontumi's explanation for authorizing this work was not convincing.
