An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to Kweku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as Koka. He is a marketer facing serious accusations.
Asiedu is accused of threatening staff of the Economic and Organised Crime Office EOCO with death. This alleged threat is the basis for the court case.
The court set his bail at GH¢100,000. This amount must be secured by two individuals who will act as sureties.
These sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the Accra Circuit Court. This is a standard requirement for bail.
As part of the bail conditions, Asiedu must also deposit his passport with the court. A photocopy of his passport is also required.
The court's decision follows a formal charge brought against Asiedu. The case is being handled by the judicial system.
EOCO is an agency tasked with investigating economic and organised crime in Ghana. Its staff carry out important investigations.
The legal proceedings will continue as planned. The court will hear further evidence in due course.
