The Kasoa Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Ebenezer Osei Darko has sentenced a twenty eight year old security guard named as Isaac Akwasi to fifteen years in prison with hard labour. According to an Adom Online report the convict was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and robbery after an incident at an electronics store located in Kasoa. Prosecution records cited by local media outlets indicate that the convict provided vital information to his accomplices to facilitate the theft of various electronic gadgets.

Reports from GhanaWeb and Adom Online state that the robbery occurred during the night when the convict was officially on duty. The court heard that the security guard intentionally left a side door unlocked to allow three other suspects to enter the facility undetected. Once inside the group managed to cart away cellular phones laptops and other high value accessories valued at several thousand Ghana Cedis according to a police statement filed at the court.

During the trial the prosecution presented evidence showing that the convict received a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the stolen items. While the security guard initially denied the charges investigators from the Kasoa Divisional Police Command provided phone records and witness testimonies that linked him to the crime. This evidence was corroborated by secondary reports from GHOne TV which noted that the other accomplices remain at large and are currently on the police wanted list.

In his final judgment His Honour Ebenezer Osei Darko remarked that the sentence should serve as a deterrent to other employees who might consider betraying the trust of their employers. The court noted that the convict held a position of trust which he exploited for personal gain. Following the sentencing the Kasoa Divisional Police Command issued a statement urging business owners to conduct thorough background checks and vetting procedures before hiring private security personnel to protect their commercial interests.
