An Indian court has refused to release activist Sonam Wangchuk from a hospital in New Delhi. He was taken to the hospital by police after a hunger strike.
Wangchuk's wife had asked the court to order his release from what she called illegal detention. The activist had been on hunger strike for three weeks.
The strike was in support of a protest movement. The hospital has not allowed Wangchuk to leave despite repeated requests.
