Freddie Blay, former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, will not run away because he is sick and at home.
His lawyer, Gregory Asiedu, made this statement after a court remanded Blay in custody. The remand is related to an alleged involvement in a demolition dispute at Kitase.
The Akropong Circuit Court ordered the remand.
Lawyer Asiedu believes this action is an abuse of the court process.
He argued that his client is not considered a flight risk by the legal team.
Asiedu highlighted Blay's current health condition as a reason he cannot abscond.
The lawyer is questioning the legal grounds for keeping Blay detained.
Further details regarding the demolition dispute are under investigation.
