Lawyers for Freddie Blay plan to challenge a court order that keeps him in police custody. They will file an appeal at the High Court in Koforidua.

The appeal follows a decision by the Circuit Court in Akropong. This court ruled that Mr. Blay should be remanded. Remand means he must stay in custody while further legal steps are taken.

Mr. Blay is the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Details about the charges he faces have not been fully disclosed by the Judicial Service.

His legal team believes the remand decision was incorrect. They aim to have this overturned by the higher court.
