Lawyers representing Freddie Blay have initiated legal action to contest a court order that resulted in his remand.
Mr Blay, the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, is being held in police custody due to a land dispute at Kitase.
His legal team is preparing to file an appeal against this decision.
The appeal is expected to be lodged at the Koforidua High Court.
