An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Eric Nyarko, a 33-year-old driver, for stealing fuel. The court found him guilty of stealing and fraudulent appropriation.

Nyarko was employed by a company and was found to have stolen fuel meant for his employer's vehicles.

The court imposed a fine of GHC1,200 on the driver.

As an alternative to paying the fine, Nyarko will serve a prison sentence of three months.

This ruling follows charges brought by the prosecution that detailed Nyarko's theft of the fuel.

The Judicial Service made the ruling after reviewing the evidence presented in court.

Stealing from an employer is a serious offense that can lead to legal penalties.
