Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai addressed the issue of lawyers not appearing in court during the legal vacation. He stated that lawyers must attend court sessions.

If a lawyer is unable to proceed with a case, they should appear in court and formally request an adjournment. This statement came in response to arguments made by lawyer Atta Akyea.

Atta Akyea had reportedly argued that he did not appear in court on Tuesday, August 11, due to tiredness. The legal vacation period is a time when courts typically do not sit for regular cases.

Dr. Srem-Sai emphasized that the proper procedure involves making such requests directly to the court. This ensures that court proceedings are managed formally and transparently.
