A date has been set for a judge to decide if a politician must defend himself in court. The High Court in Accra will make this decision on March 16, 2026.
The politician is Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who is the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party.
He is accused of allowing people to mine on land he owns. This happened without getting permission from the government as required by law.
Mr. Boasiako is also known by the name Wontumi.
The court will now consider if there is enough evidence to make him start his defence.
This legal process follows accusations related to mining activities on his property.
