The Kumasi Court of Appeal has cancelled an order made by the Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, the Vice-Chancellor, had told a senior lecturer to apologize to two other lecturers.
The court, in a unanimous decision, found that this order was not fair. It stated that the university's directive went against the rules of natural justice.
The judgment was delivered on February 12, 2026. This means the senior lecturer no longer has to make the apology.
The ruling clarifies the fair process required in disciplinary matters within institutions.
