The Accra High Court has told Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, that he must defend himself in an illegal mining case. He is the regional chairman for the NPP in the Ashanti Region.
The case involves mining on a concession belonging to Chairman Wontumi at Samreboi. Samreboi is located in the Western Region of Ghana.
The court issued its order on Monday, March 16. This means the legal process will now move to the defence stage for Chairman Wontumi and his company, Akonta Mining.
The Judicial Service oversees the proceedings in court. Further details of the defence will be presented by Chairman Wontumi's legal team.
