The Accra High Court has ordered Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the NPP Ashanti regional chairman, to present his defence. This is in relation to charges of illegal mining.

The case involves mining activities on a concession linked to Mr. Antwi Boasiako in Samreboi. This location is in the Western Region of Ghana.

The court's order was given on Monday, March 16. Mr. Antwi Boasiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi, must now present his side of the story.

His company, Akonta Mining, is also a party in this legal proceeding. The company is accused of unlawful mining operations.

This development follows previous proceedings in the illegal mining case. The court found sufficient grounds for Mr. Antwi Boasiako to answer the allegations.

Further court dates will be set for the continuation of the defence presentation. The Judicial Service oversees these proceedings.
