A court in Accra has told Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the NPP Ashanti regional chairman, to start his defence. He is known by the name Chairman Wontumi.

This order concerns a case about alleged illegal mining on his mining site. The site is located in Samreboi in the Western Region.

The court made this decision on Monday, March 16. Chairman Wontumi and his company, Akonta Mining, are involved in this case.

Legal proceedings will now move forward with the defence being presented.
