The Accra High Court has told Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who is the Ashanti regional chairman for the NPP, that he must defend himself in court. This is about a case concerning illegal mining on his mining site.
The court made this decision on Monday, March 16. Mr. Antwi Boasiako is also known as Chairman Wontumi.
The case involves his company, Akonta Mining. The mining activities are said to have taken place at Samreboi in the Western Region.
The Judicial Service has stated that Chairman Wontumi must now present his side of the story to the court.
This legal action follows allegations of illegal mining activities.
The court proceedings will continue as Chairman Wontumi prepares his defence.
