The Attorney-General's office is asking a court to dismiss a legal argument made by Bernard Antwi Boasiako. Mr. Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, is accused in an illegal mining case.

Court filings show the Attorney-General's office has submitted a 12-page response. This response urges the Criminal Division of the High Court in Accra to reject Mr. Antwi Boasiako's plea.

Mr. Antwi Boasiako had argued that there was not enough evidence to continue the trial against him. This is known as a submission of no case to answer.

The Attorney-General's office believes the evidence presented is sufficient. They want the court to proceed with the trial.

This legal action is part of an ongoing trial concerning alleged illegal mining activities.

The court will consider the arguments from both sides. It will then decide whether to uphold Mr. Antwi Boasiako's submission or dismiss it.
