An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Judge Samuel Bright Acquah has remanded Wisdom Kpodo into police custody according to a Graphic Online report. The 45 year old suspect face charges for allegedly defrauding several victims of a total sum amounting to 200000 Cedis. The prosecution stated that the accused person presented himself as an individual capable of securing employment for the victims within the security agencies.

According to the facts presented in a GhanaWeb report police investigations revealed that the suspect claimed to have slots for recruitment into the Ghana Immigration Service and the Ghana Police Service. The victims who were eager for employment allegedly paid various sums of money to the accused between the months of February and June 2024. The prosecution alleged that the money was meant to facilitate the recruitment processes for the complainants.

The Graphic Online report further indicates that the suspect failed to deliver the promised jobs and subsequently went into hiding after the victims demanded their funds. The police statement presented in court noted that several complainants reported the matter to the authorities which led to the eventual arrest of Wisdom Kpodo in the Greater Accra Region. The suspect has pleaded not guilty to all charges of defrauding by false pretense and charlatanic advertisements.

The court denied a bail application submitted by the defense counsel according to a Ghana News Agency report.
