We aim to be accurate. When we are not, we correct the record.
Our approach
- We review every correction request.
- If a report contains an error of fact, we correct the article.
- For significant errors, we add a note to the article explaining what was changed.
- If a report identifies someone it should not, we remove the details or the article.

Takedown and privacy requests
If a story identifies a child, identifies the victim of a sexual offence, contains a private address or phone number, or reports a case that was later dropped or ended in acquittal, use the form below and begin your message with TAKEDOWN. These requests go to the top of the editors' queue and the details are removed while we review.
